How good is the Bose Acoustic Wave music system?
The basic model costs over a thousand bucks.
I've been involved with music reproduction for over 25 years. I have heard and compared literally 1000's of systems and pieces of equipment (Including the Bose). If you are truly looking for decent audio reproduction, you can't possibly get it from a fixed one piece system like the Bose. There are just to many variables - room volume, room dimensions, furnishings, floor treatment, curtains etc.
Not to mention $1000.00 plus for a glorified boom box is ridicules! What you need to do is go to a decent hifi shop (someone who truly knows their stuff). These guys will usually let you demo gear in your own home for a period of time, work to get you the best gear for your needs within your budget, and explain the how and why questions you will have. Let your ears be your guide (bring a familiar recording for comparison shopping)
