A good home theater speaker can make all the difference to enjoying your little piece of entertainment paradise. Cinema sound is on most people's wish list and undoubtedly, you'll be thinking about a quality sound system.

Yes, they are excellent sound systems but before you rush out and spend your hard earned cash, you need to understand a little more about the home theater speaker. Do you understand speaker types.

Sub Woofers

The sub woofer is the mainstay of your home theater speakers. The sub woofer is the speaker that takes you to another place, the speaker that allows you to actually physically feel the sound, and the speaker that rumbles your seats when those huge Star Wars battle scenes hit your screen. The sub woofer produces the lowest of audible frequencies in your home theater setup. In other words, the sub woofer handles all the bass.

Then there are your main speakers. They take care of the high end sound. This speaker is responsible for carrying the dialogue or major sounds whereas the other speakers in your surround sound speaker setup will carry the attributing sounds that help bolster the overall effect of having a “wall of sound”.

Placing Your Speakers
