Using a PC hardrive on a 50 " HDTV samsung Plasma TV?
Ok, I have heard that insted of having a DVD player with a hardrive connected to your TV, you can use something similar to/or a PC hardrive to do it all? I have the connections on the TV so has anyone done it and is it unreal??? What do you buy? just go shopping and by a PC hardrive etc or is there programs you need to get aswell to fully run it? do you control it with a remote or a mouse? can you get towers with blue ray and normal DVD format? Will it play all regions and does the the tower need to have a TV tuner card? also can you connect it so you can record from foxtel and TV channels??? I have a 50" HDTV 1080 plasma from samsung. any help and words of experience appreciated!
I suggest you look into Media Center PCs. One brand is HP. See the link below. They come with various features. I have seen them with not only a blu-ray player, but also a blu ray player/recorder. They can include TV tuner cards with remote controls and IR blasters that will control a cable box or satellite box so you can do timed recording. The Media Center program guide is excellent. You just click on a program in the guide, and it will be recorded when the time comes. Media Center is a Microsoft OS, and you can get it on various manufacturer's PCs besides HP. The most complete PC would include not only everything I've indicated above, but also a cablecard which will allow the PC to record HDTV from cable without a cable box. The computers hook-up to the TV via HDMI or DVI, in versions that have TV output capability.

Getting a new television for the home is a major purchase nowadays. The idea of parting with what could be a couple of hundred notes does tend to concentrate the mind somewhat.
Ensuring that any purchase you make is to all intent and purposes future-proof has to be the most major of all criteria when deciding which TV to buy.
Television over the years has taken a great number of forms from the old days of analogue Black and White, through the launch of colour television to the latest technologies known as Digital Television (DTT). Other ways have been devised to receive digital television. Among the most familiar to people are digital cable and digital satellite. In some countries where transmissions of TV signals are normally achieved by microwaves, digital MMDS is used.
With this article the aim is to take a look at what is on offer with the latest generation of Flat Screen Televisions and in this case the Loewe Concept L32.
The Concept L32 is a 32in LCD TV and the prices for these would be in the region of 1450 pounds sterling or 2900 US dollars. The resolution of the screen is 1366 X 768 and with regards to being HD Ready the answer is yes. The Loewe has 2 (1 RGB) scarts and the type and number of Multimedia interfaces the Concept L32 uses is HDMI and 1. The type of Tuner for this TV is Analogue and the Loewe is available from specialised outlets only.
So given this information, what would be our view of the Loewe Concept L32?
Well to start with our score for the picture quality is 8 out of 10, and for the sound quality we would rate it at 8 out of 10. Another useful aspect to review is the availability and number of relevant connections and our score here would be 10 out of 10. With regards to the overall level of features, our view would be 8 out of 10 and for ease of use and overall value for money we would give it, 8 out of 10 and 8 out of 10 respectively.
Finally our overall opinion would be this TV looks terrific and in some cases the colours add real value and striking images but when you look at something Hi-def then some of the blue tints and granular effects aren't that appealing.
With the wide range and variety of makes and models available for you to choose from it is unlikely that you will not find something to suite your taste or satisfy any budgetary constraints that you might have. The choice, as they say, is completely down to you to decide whether to stay at the forefront of what are rapidly changing technologies and fashion or to remain part of the safer but perhaps better developed mainstream. We hope that after reading this article you will find yourself better informed and as such it will mean that really it will not matter which rout you take.
Please be aware that the prices quoted in this article are taken from a number of leading e-commerce websites and as such should be taken as guides and indications of prices rather than absolute quotes.
