vinyl record player wont play?
its an early 80's pioneer model. the set up and everything works fine; the record spins and arm moves etc
but when i set the arm and needle on the record to play it sits there for a little while then goes up and returns to its like resting position. without playing any music or even going a full rotation of a 33disk. there is a lever that is for stand by and playing records, but niether make the arm stay in the spot.
i just took it to a guy to fix it, he had to replace the belt and i got a new needle- and he had it working in his shop not one hour ago- WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???
I'm not sure, but my Marantz turntable does that when I first start it up. After it's done I try it again and it works. I think it may be like a re-set mechanism, but again I'm not really sure. Especially if it keeps doing it.
