I own the 64u that has a 4ms response time and have never had any motion blur or ghosting. With your 62u at 6ms you shouldn't be getting any either. I would agree with the others and say it is probably the signal you are receiving. Try another source and see if you have the same issues.

Can Dolby Pro Logic be decoded VIA a PC or MAC line in socket?

Case in point, I would like to get some estimation of Surround Sound (Pro Logic is better than Stereo) out of my 5.1 speakers but they do not have a Pro Logic decoder. Is it possible to connect the stereo RCA cables to a 3.5mm adaptor, plug the adaptor into a PC/MAC then decode the pro logic signal out into the 5.1 speakers?

First it depends on what sort of speakers you have. Most sound cards don't amplify the signal too much so if you were to connect the speakers directly to the sound card the volume levels would be very low. Typically computer speakers have their own amplification.

Second, Dolby Pro Logic is not an encoding scheme like Dolby Digital. Dolby Pro Logic merely takes a source and matrixes it across 5.1 or 7.1 channels.

Your Mac or PC's sound card may have software that can do this or the Audio/Video program you are using might have that capability. It would be a software thing unless you have a sound card that has hardware support for it like the ASUS Xonar or some of the Creative Labs sound blasters.

Basically, a digital signal either works or it doesn't ... you don't get gradual degradation with distance as with analog.

HDMI CAN work up to 100 ft or so, but ONLY with careful design and top quality cables.

At short distance (<10 ft) cable quality is more an issue of physical construction than anything else. At longer distances it's more a matter what distance it fails at. At 15 feet you are getting into a length that cable design/quality does matter.

I thought I was going to keep my Sony Trinitron analog set forever. I've had it for over 10 years and it was working fine even after the stations officially switched over to digital. But about a month later, my set was acting up.

It randomly and repeatedly scanned channels and no matter how many times I press the buttons on my remote it would not stop. Through a tech forum, I learned it was caused by malfunctioning hardware or software. To have a TV repairman examine it and fix it wouldn't be cheap.

So I though, why waste good money on the repair of an outdated analog TV when I would be better off putting that money into a newer HDTV?

I had to get a new set fast, because me and my wife will probably go stir crazy if we didn't give our three kids, a four year old and 2-1/2 year old twins something to entertainment them with when we were busy.

The very next day we bought a Vizio 32" HDTV and what a dramatic difference in picture quality. It was unbelievable what my family had been missing. Television broadcasts looks better and DVDs are sharper.

If you still own an analog television set and you're still on the fence about getting a HDTV, consider my situation and how much better and brighter your television and DVD movie viewing experience will be.

How can i reset (DEGAUSS) color on my SONY Trinitron 27" TV?

The colors have seperated to where the left 3rd of screen is much greener, right side more redish etc... This happened on my computer screen and i finally fixed it by pushing the degauss option on monitors menu.

Most 27 inch Sony's don't have a button to push....If you turn off your TV for 20 minutes and turn it back on, you should hear a "Bong!" sound at startup.....that's your built-in degausser doing it's job, but it fires only when the TV is Cold.....If you don't hear a "Bong" then most likely your degausser needs resoldered due to bad connections.

It's unlikely, but your symptoms also describe a loose yoke, or a bad shadow mask. A good technician will have a test for both problems.

Tv sound not coming through my home theatre system, but dvd does?

The red , white and yellow are plugged in to the input on the tv as thats all there is, should I plug the other end into my satellite box instead of the dvd, or does there need to be a connection from the tv to the ht system? the sound from the dvd is working fine through the ht system. My tv is fairly new.

If your TV only has an input then what you want to do is connect the satellite box to the Home Theatre system (hopefully it has the red and white audio outs). This way the sound information will be transmitted to the ht system rather than to the TV. All you would need going to your TV then would be a video line from the satellite box to the input on the TV. Image will show on TV and sound will come through on your ht. Again this depends what the back of the satellite box looks like and how it's connected to the TV.

Is HDMI input important on a home theater system?

I am looking to buy the Philips HTS3555 home theater system and i read that it had a HDMI output but no HDMI input. this particular system has a HDDVD player that acts as a reciever. I have a few questions and would appreciate any help!
1. what is a HDMI input for and is it important to have?
2. Basically i want to be able to watch movies in HD with surround sound, will i be able to do that without an HDMI input?

You do not need to have an input, an output from the system is all you will need to watch movies in surround sound and HD. You will also ge thte best sound through the HDMI. The input port is basically used for recording I beleive, but to watch all u need is an ouput on the system and an input on the tv.
