Did I Get Ripped Off..... I Nead Help Please!!!?

alright, i traded sony xplodes 1200w (i no they dont push that much probably like 200w) for some 400w rockford fosguates. they're not blown or anything n work just fine. did i get ripped off, and i know that i need like 1 - 2 cubic feet for each 12" sub for the box. this isnt that much, its that has plastic all around the front to protect the speakers, kinda like a truck box but it has holes on top that make it sound freakin awesome. should i get a completely seald but bigger box. heres what it looks like.

That box is actually a bandpass enclosure. The plastic in front is not to protect the subs but so you can see them. A bandpass enclosure is basically a sealed box and ported box. The front part is sealed and the rear is ported (the holes on top).

Bandpass enclosures are going to need to need a lot of time to design. Usually prefab bandpass will sound horrible but you said that it sounds good.

I recommend that you keep that box if it sounds good. If you do get another box make sure it is custom made for those subs. That will maximize the performance of your subs.

It all depends on what you thick of the sound whether you got ripped off or not. If you like it then you shouldn't worry about if you got ripped off or not.

LCD stands for many different things depending on what field it is being used. In mathematics LCD is defined as least common denominator while in Atkins, it is low carbohydrate diet. But we will be talking about liquid crystal display or the LCD acronym used in the world or television or home entertainment. Sometimes LCD is being defined as liquid crystal diode. United States burns 20.4 million barrels of oil per day. We are damaging our environment beyond repair by burning copious amounts of hydrocarbons into our atmosphere. According to Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth", global warming is melting the ice shelf and global sea levels could rise by over 20 feet. Looking at the global temperature data and it's correlation to greenhouse gas emissions, I believe there is indisputable evidence that burning hydrocarbons is responsible for most of the global warming that is wreaking havoc on our weather systems.

Aside from the frightening global warming issue, I am also deeply concerned about our attitude with regard to consumption. Up until just last year, the US was the worlds largest consumer of natural resources. According to David Suzuki's "Sacred Balance" (I absolutely LOVED this book - everyone should read it), since 1940, Americans alone have used up as large a share of the Earth's mineral resources as all previous generations put together.

The real scary thing is, as of last year, consumption in China eclipsed that of the United States in all the worlds resources but oil, and China's 1.3 billion person economy is growing at a frightening 8% annually

Why is this concerning? There are around 6 billion people living on this rock today. Estimating future population growth at only 1% per year, the numbers are staggering. By 2015, experts estimate there will be 7 billion people on the planet. By 2050, there may be as many as 10 billion people living on Earth. Can mother Earth support this extended family? When will we reach the limit of our resources?

We live in a culture where incentives exist to encourage doing more with more - not doing more with less. Doing more with less is called "efficiency", doing more with more is called "Gluttony". Bigger, faster, more powerful vehicles that consume more fuel at faster rates, larger meals wrapped in complex, land-fill bound packaging, disposable products filling store shelves - you get the picture. Take the new wave of hybrid cars for example. Hybrid technology that was intended to produce spectacular fuel economy, was flipped around by car makers to instead, produce more horsepower for their new hybrid SUV's! Less green, more mean.

Human Powered vehicles are all about trying to do more with less. How to go faster or farther with less energy. Technologies Incorporated into human powered vehicles like aerodynamics, wheel rolling resistance, mechanical efficiencies and size and weight optimization are directly applicable to the cars and boats and other vehicles that we rely upon in these modern times. Most importantly though, Interest in human power represents an essential shift in basic philosophy from one of 'feasting on earths resources' to a 'do more with less' ideal.

Car radio sound on powered speakers, but nothing on my car speakers?

I just installed a new radio/mp3 player and it seems to be working fine.
Radio has two RCA output jacks which I connected to existing speakers which used to work just fine. No Sound.
I took a PC speaker and no sound, then I tried some powered multimedia speakers and the sound works fine with them.
I am confused - any ideas please ?

What are the custom-made dolls sold in anime conventions called?

I love anime and I've been to several anime conventions. When I go, in the Dealer's Room (where they sell stuff) there's always a table set up that makes custom-made dolls. The dolls are very pricey, about 300 bucks or more each. Any one know what they're called?
Obviously they're called dolls. I mean the brand/company/website.

If they're those ball-joint dolls, they they're by Volks Dollfie. They're made from resin, rather than vinyl. There's some lower-cost alternatives on the site below (such as "Who's That Girl") made by the same company.

Aluminum fencing has been around for many years but never has it had the appeal of today's products. For as long as people have had property that they wanted to decorate or secure, fencing has been around. A long time ago the only option that you had for fencing was with natural materials such as wood or stone. The designs were simple and the colors, although limitless, were less than exciting. The color options were vast since you could choose from any color of paint that you wanted. Paint had serious drawbacks to it though. What to do with an obsolete TiVo Series 2 DVR?

I have an old TiVo Series 2 single tuner analog-only no CableCard standard definition DVR with the lifetime subscription. As Comcast migrates more and more channels from analog to digital, the TiVo is able to tune fewer and fewer channels. Aside from that, the TiVo is in perfect condition and has no issues, but it's a big bulky box taking up space better consumed by a Comcast HD DVR. What on earth can I do with the TiVo other than recycle it?

They sell for about $150 on e-bay. The important part is the lifetime service, it wouldn't be worth much without it.

They are still useful for:

-analog cable

-digital cable by controling a cable box with IR blaster

-single tuner ones can control a converter box for over the air use. I have one connected to a Zenith converter and an antenna

-if connected to high speed internet they can download some video, both free stuff and paid rentals

I imagine that you could sell it (for less) on craigslist.com if you don't want to bother with ebay.
