If you intend to use your computer with that big-screen HDTV, get the LCD.

Plasmas are not good for displaying still images for extended periods of time (which a computer tends to do). If a still image is left on a plasma screen for a period of time, the image will get burnt permanently into the screen. An LCD does not suffer from this problem.

Get the 42" LCD HDTV, and hook it up with a DVI-to-HDMI or a standard HDMI cable, if your vid card has a DVI or HDMI port respectively.

Besides, the LCD you are considering has higher resolution (1920x1080) than the Plasma (1366x768). Higher resolution is nicer for a big screen.

Replacing Y-SUS board in Plasma LG tv?

I am thinking of buying a 50" lg plasma tv off ebay the seller has indicated he has had it checked over by a technician and it has been confirmed it is a y-sus board failure. I have no problem fitting the board and sourcing it. I was just reading another thread and it had been discussed that the voltage across a certain resistor had to be set to 200-+ volts. Owning an mulitimeter checking the voltage would not be a problem but how do I change it or is it just a straight swap over replace board and then done any answers would be apprecciated.

But there is a ramp_up and ramp-down adjustment that you may have to make, it just depends on what MODEL of plasma you have.

But it's likely pre-adjusted anyways....
